In the years ahead, the company has a unique opportunity to grow one of its largest and most profitable businesses, the Windows Client business, for one of the most strategic growth markets in the world, China. A priority growth opportunity will be in the commercial and public sector segments where organizations will be driving large-scale migrations and upgrades to the latest available Windows Operating System (OS). Over the coming years, China will face the largest OS migration ever, and this presents great opportunity for the company to help customers accelerate these deployments and for company’s partners to deliver value added deployment services.
The Product Marketing Manager for Enterprise Segment will be responsible for defining and executing an integrated sales and marketing plan to drive awareness and demand among top enterprise and public sector customers, evaluation of the product, sales programs to drive purchase and dedicated programs to drive deployment and ensure customer satisfaction.
In this position, you will work closely with an internal virtual team across China and corporate HQ as well as local customers and partners. The key audiences with which you will be connecting include:
Work with China enterprise sales teams to develop and execute a tightly integrated sales and marketing plan to drive demand, evaluation, purchase and deployment
Work with an extended group of marketing managers to develop and execute commercial awareness plans across several marketing vehicles
Liaise with corporate product marketing organization to leverage content, strategy, programs and other resource support to build the enterprise segment plans for Windows in China
Work with outside partners and vendors to execute plans
Engagement directly with company’s partner and customers to advance deals, present in one-to-many events and offer continuous customer feedback loops to the company
Key Responsibilities
This job includes leading an integrated sales and marketing plan to drive awareness, evaluation, purchase and deployment of Windows in the enterprise and public sector segments. Specific responsibilities include:
Define Windows customer value proposition for enterprise and public sector segments- Work with corporate product marketing to leverage global customer value proposition and customize for local market environment with local research and customer feedback.
Business Planning and Leadership – Develop annual business plan and regular forecasts to meet fiscal year revenue, customer deployment and customer satisfaction targets for Windows in the enterprise and public sector segments.. Represent the enterprise and public sector segment business performance in Windows BG monthly and quarterly business reviews with financial reporting and measuring progress and health of overall business.
Integrated segment sales and marketing plan – With a virtual team that includes key counterparts in the enterprise and public sector sales organizations, develop and execute an integrated sales and marketing plan to drive the following:
o Strong Demand and Awareness for accelerated adoption of the latest version of Windows and also key scenarios enabled by the company’s Optimized Desktop. This will include a marketing plan to reach customers 1-1, 1-few and 1-many to communicate the value proposition, perception of momentum, and case examples. This will also involve producing key customer case studies to fuel marketing activities.
o Drive evaluation and remove barriers for adoption – Customers face several barriers to adoption of a new Operating System. To address this, you will define and execute specific programs and sales motions within the sales teams to engage customers in pilots and proof of concepts that ready them for adoption of the new OS.
o Sales programs to drive purchase – Work with sales teams and peer product marketing managers to introduce key offers and programs that establish clear selling motions to drive sales results expected from budget and quota plans.
o Programs to drive deployment, adoption and satisfaction – Drive programs and customer account-level planning to meet customer deployment and satisfaction targets.
Great product and Solution evangelism – As a product marketing manager, you will be expected to engage in continuous education Windows products and solution scenarios with customers, partners, press and internal audiences. This will include one-to-many activities as well as supporting one-to-one strategic customer and partner engagements.
Field Sales Readiness – Execute training and readiness programs to empower the company and partner sales forces to successfully sell Windows and deliver value to customers. This will include developing and delivering necessary training to sales teams and also customer-ready materials used by sales.
Orchestration and Leadership – For all plans and initiatives, it will be critical to demonstrate strong orchestration and cross-group leadership with extended marketing and sales team across the subsidiary organization. This will involve leading virtual teams for initiatives, product launches and customer/partner programs. Also, work with extended teams and peer subsidiaries to share best practices and contribute to planning and execution of cross-region activities.
Experience and Skill Requirements
This position will require a candidate with a good balance of experience and knowledge in driving planning and execution of sales and marketing programs, leading collaboration across an organization, and engaging with customers and partners. Specifically, this should include:
Must have proven experience with planning and executing marketing programs, specifically targeting commercial and government customers and partner, and also with one-to-many marketing activities
Demonstrated ability to drive results by leading and working with extended teams
Structured approach to business planning and execution with strong project management skills
Ability to present technology and solutions effectively to excite customers or partners – in one-to-one, or small to large audiences.
Excellent communications and presentation skill
5+ years of related experience in sales and marketing with at least 4 years in a high tech software environment
Bachelor degree required
Language Skills: Require English and preferably Mandarin
Job Location: Beijing, China
Travel Required: Partial travel within Greater China
